General Manager, Thailand
Location: Bangkok
PENGWIN is the first social shipping tool built for Facebook and Instagram sellers. We are an early-stage start-up incorporated in Singapore, planning to launch our Thailand operations. For that, we are looking for a General Manager to build and scale our business.
As a GM you will be responsible for achieving key objectives, driving the country strategy and manage the company P&L. You will be responsible to hire and drive a high-performing, cross-functional team. On a daily basis, you’ll be taking care of the following things:
Business Development & Partner Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with partner, e.g. shipping carriers, payment providers and Social Media Platforms
Identify B2B opportunities and develop revenue streams though partnerships with companies in and around the Social Commerce ecosystem
Conduct market research and provide continuous market intelligence for product & service enhancement
Network in the start-up scene and position Pengwin towards VCs and other investors
Represent the company at start-up events and industry conferences to promote Pengwin in the community
Engage with relevant government bodies promoting entrepreneurship/ start-ups in Thailand
Sales, Marketing & Customer Success
Define pricing strategy and promotions to achieve revenue and profit targets
Define and execute the Social Media Marketing Strategy for Thailand to win and retain customers on the platform effectively
Identify and onboard marketing agencies, copywriters, content developers, designers and Social Media influencers
Manage our company presence online/ on Social Media to ensure timely and high-quality response to customer queries/ complaints
Represent Pengwin at/ host social commerce events to drive offline customer acquisition
Regulatory, Compliance and Operations
Work closely with our lawyers, consultants and accountants to ensure full compliance of our business with all local regulatory and tax requirements
Supervise a cross-functional team, set KPIs and drive performance
Ensure high level of customer satisfaction
Manage accounting, payroll and reporting
Find, set up and maintain a fresh office environment for the team
What you need to bring?
You are fluent in Thai and English (written and spoken)
You have previous experience in e-commerce and e-com logistics
You have a strong network in the Thai start-up ecosystem
You have founded or worked in a start-up before or have a strong desire to work in a start-up environment
You are self-driven/ motivated and have a “Get-things-done” mindset
You have managed and motivated a small cross-functional team before
You are culturally aware and sensitive to be able to work in a multi-national, cross-cultural team
